In my book 'Society 4.0' (2021), I called global companies like BlackRock 'Corporate States', because they make laws and regulations just like 'Nation States', but in such a way that they are beneficial to them and not to citizens. How they do that can be read in this post and the attached @Indepen article.
What is Society 4.0? In Society 4.0 the interests of citizens form the starting point of building the society. Regions form the basis of the future citizens society, as several technological developments enable the decentral production of most primary human necessities – from energy and food to health and education. The economies of scale, crucial for mass production in the industrial society, becomes less relevant and therefor also in the future society. The foundations of our future society need to be re-built from the basic needs of citizens. Cooperation Society 4.0 supports initiatives that help the re-building of regions by inspiration, knowledge exchange, networking, expertise, action plans and concrete solutions and – if possible – financial support.
This book is a timely warning of the major societal risks posed by technological developments in the long run. Corporate leaders should pay heed to the analyses and observations in this book and take on the responsibility for building a better society.’ Prof. Jan Peter Balkenende Former Prime Minister of the Netherlands (2002 – 2010); Professor of Governance, Institutions and Internationalization, Erasmus University Rotterdam; External Senior Advisor to EY; chairman of the Dutch Sustainable Growth Coalition ‘The world of tomorrow requires us to ‘look differently’ at ourselves today. This book invites you to consider the issues facing us as a society from a new perspective.
