A frequently asked question that I often receive as a trainer is: what is more effective, functional training with an exercise such as the deadlift, or using a device such as the leg press? Frankly, there is no straight answer to that question. Both training methods have their pros and cons. An advantage of the deadlift is of course that several muscle groups are targeted, but incorrect execution can be prone to injury. On the other hand, a machine like the leg press offers more stability and is less likely to make mistakes, but you move in a more isolated manner. So what's the best choice? Personally, I prefer functional training for the following reasons: Better performance in everyday life
